Tell me more about ISO, EN ISO, and SS EN ISO editions

If there's one thing that's confusing to folks, it's the many different kinds of editions of the same document!  I have a StandardsForum.com article that is my most widely read posting on this very issue.  It's at http://standardsforum.com/what-is-the-difference-between-an-iso-en-iso-and-bs-en-iso-standard/

Here you'll learn about the concept of a source document (the ISO publication) and how various regions and countries adopt the standard for use. Understanding these procedures makes it far easier to understand what's up.

I also discuss why you might choose to use one version over another.  This seems to be a difficult task, but once you understand why so many editions exist and what makes each different (or the same), you'll be able to see why you have the document collection you do!
